Stadium roof collapses in Russia, kills a 29-year-old

One individual was killed after the top of an enormous arena in the Russian city of St Petersburg fallen while under reproduction, authorities state.

The SKK Peterburgsky, games and show complex, crumbled on Friday evening and caught one labourer under the rubble.

In an announcement, Russia’s crisis service Petersburg named the specialist who fell as 29-year-old M. Kucherov.

It said he had been appended to a wellbeing link, which broke during the episode.

He “did gas cutting work, in anticipation of the arranged destruction of the vault of the structure,” the announcement said.

“Because of the debilitating of the structure, the rooftop and dividers of the arch crumbled.”

The arena, which was first opened in 1980 for the Moscow Olympics, has been shut since August a year ago while it is annihilated and reproduced for the 2023 Ice Hockey Big showdowns.
