Marcus Rashford Eyes Barcelona Move as Real Madrid Join Race for Jhon Duran

The 27-year-old England international, who has been a key figure at Old Trafford, is said to be keen on a fresh start in La Liga, according to the Daily Star Sunday. Barcelona's ability to sign Rashford may depend on their ability to offload Denmark defender Andreas Christensen

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly prepared to take a wage cut to facilitate a move to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old England international, who has been a key figure at Old Trafford, is said to be keen on a fresh start in La Liga, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Barcelona’s ability to sign Rashford may depend on their ability to offload Denmark defender Andreas Christensen.

The 28-year-old centre-back has been linked with an exit, which could ease the club’s financial constraints and free up space in the squad.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Christensen’s departure would provide Barcelona with the necessary flexibility to pursue Rashford.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are monitoring Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku. The 27-year-old French forward, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023, is reportedly on the Red Devils’ radar.

According to ESPN, United are interested in Nkunku’s future and could consider an approach. In a potential swap deal, 20-year-old Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with a move in the opposite direction.

Napoli have also entered the race for Garnacho’s signature. The club’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, confirmed their interest in the Argentine starlet, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Germany forward Karim Adeyemi.

However, Manna emphasised that Napoli will not overpay for either player. “We will not pay prices that are outside the market value,” he told Football Italia via DAZN.

In their search for defensive reinforcements, Manchester United have increased their bid for Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu.

The Red Devils offered £27 million for the 20-year-old Denmark left-back, but the bid was rejected. Talksport reports that Lecce are holding out for £35 million, which could prompt further negotiations.

Newcastle United are planning to secure the long-term future of their star striker Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old Sweden international has been instrumental in Newcastle’s attack since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, the Magpies are set to offer Isak a new long-term contract in the summer to fend off interest from other clubs.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran. The 21-year-old Colombia international has already attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi club Al-Nassr. Footmercato reports that Real Madrid are now considering Duran as a potential addition to their attacking options.

The young striker has impressed with his performances in the Premier League and could become the latest South American talent to make the move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

With the January transfer window approaching, speculation is intensifying around several high-profile moves.

Rashford’s willingness to lower his wages signals a strong intent to join Barcelona, while Manchester United remain active in the market, pursuing both attacking and defensive reinforcements. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s interest in Duran could set up a competitive battle for the Aston Villa striker’s signature.
