Life of Pie actor passes away at 53

Irffan Khan, famous Indian actor well-known for his work in Bollywood and Hollywood movies died at the age of 53 year old. Khan was suffering from a rare neuroendocrine tumour.

Due to the sudden fall in health, the actor was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. The PR team of the actor confirmed his death on Wednesday morning.

“It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away,” read a statement from Khan’s PR agency, Hardly Anonymous Communications. “Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him.”

Khan was diagnosed with this rare cancer in 2018 , and had undergone treatment for a long time in the United Kingdom.

The actor had starred in many Indian and Hollywood movies like Slumdog Millionnaire, Jurassic Park and Life of Pie to name a few.

Irrfan Khan’s mother died on April 24, 2020, however, he was unable to attend her last rites due to strict lockdown in India.

Khan’s funeral was kept low and only twenty close family members including his wife and two sons were allowed to be part of his last rites in Mumbai.
