A mainstream video blogger tricked Romanian media by fooling them into running a phony report about an apparent auto accident.
Andrei Şelaru, referred to online as Selly, is the most famous Romanian YouTuber with a large number of web-based media supporters.
Selly doctored a video to make it appear as though he had been engaged with an auto crash and sent it to Romanian newsrooms.
The 19-year-old said he needed to show how effectively fake news gets got by certain outlets.
