French police arrested the 11 person on Sunday as investigative agencies probe the brutal beheading of Samuel Paty, a history teacher viciously murdered by an alleged Islamist in an offence that stunned entire France.
Police have not provided any detailed information about the 11th person who have been captured in connection to the beheading of the history teacher.
Four family members of the attacker were immediately arrested by the police while five more people were captured later, which includes the father of a student at Paty’s school. All detainees have been identified by the intelligence services of France- anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard announced on Saturday.
People in the country paid to tribute the departed teacher. Charlie Hebdo, who was also the victim of an attack that resulted in mass assassination five years ago, is in one of the organisations that planned the tribute on Sunday afternoon.
An 18-year-old assailant born in Russia of Chechen origin beheaded the 47-year-old teacher outside his school in a Paris area. The attacker was shot dead by police soon after the crime.
Reports have suggested that the deceased teacher had shown sketches of Prophet Mohammad in his class on the name of freedom of expression. This incident provoked the feelings of many Muslim parents.
Islamic people believe that any depiction of the Prophet is profane.
The government has called the assassination as a crime on the spirit of French values.
Prime Minister Jean Castex declared the government was working on a strategy to secure teachers from such dangers.
