BASEL, SWITZERLAND — Claude, the Netherlands’ representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, delivered a stirring and visually rich second rehearsal of his entry “C’est La Vie” at St. Jakobshalle in Basel.
The performance, which doubles as a tribute to his mother and a universal message of hope, has already generated buzz among fans and press alike ahead of the grand event.
Stepping onto the stage in a shimmering purple suit adorned with pearls—an ensemble recently teased on his Instagram—Claude immediately captured attention with both his fashion-forward flair and poised presence.
But it wasn’t just the visuals that made an impact. From the first delicate piano notes, his performance struck an emotional chord that resonated throughout the arena.
“C’est La Vie” is more than a song for Claude. It is a deeply personal ode inspired by his mother’s resilience and ability to find light in even the darkest moments.

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in the Netherlands from the age of nine, Claude’s journey to Eurovision is as compelling as his music.

The artist first broke into the Dutch music scene with his 2022 debut single “Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot),” which has racked up over 57 million streams.
