The Mayor of Bruges, Belgium’s Western Flanders capital city, was wounded in the neck on Saturday.
A man has been captured, the city’s examiner told the press.
The 62-year-old city hall leader and legal advisor Dirk De Pauw, of the Flemish Christian Democratic Party (CD&V), was taken to a clinic for an activity.
His condition is currently “stable”, investigator’s representative Céline D’havé stated, without giving further subtleties.
She affirmed that an examination had been opened for “endeavored murder” and depended to an exploring judge.
Nearby paper Het Laatste Nieuws detailed the occurrence happened in the first part of the day inside the chairman’s law office working, in the city’s Sint-Andries area (Saint-André), charging that the assailant could be one of the organization’s customers.
Specialists haven’t discharged a particular data on the suspect.
“It is too soon to state anything, we are examining the conditions,” D’havé said.
