UK : Search for missing mother Nicola Bulley continues

On a bridge close to where Nicola Bulley was last seen, ribbons with messages of hope have been tied.

The 45-year-old went missing on January 27 in St. Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, during a riverside dog walk.

A footbridge across the River Wyre has been festooned with messages from friends and relatives, including “We need you home, Nicola,” and a giant poster bearing her image has been attached to the railings.

The police continue to scour the water in the direction of Morecambe Bay.

Lancashire Police continue to investigate the possibility that Ms. Bulley fell into the river during her stroll after dropping off her six- and nine-year-old daughters at school that morning.

Specialists and divers from HM Coastguard, mountain rescue, and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, as well as sniffer dogs, drones, and police helicopters, have assisted in the search.

Paul Ansell, Ms. Bulley’s partner, is “100% confident” that she did not fall into the sea.

He stated that he wanted to consider “all possibilities” regarding her absence, but his “gut feeling” told him that she was not in the river.

As the search for the mortgage consultant from Inskip approached its seventeenth day, police stated they were maintaining an open mind.

The Lancashire police had previously ruled out the involvement of a third party, but on Friday it stated that it was “continuing to examine all potential scenarios to eliminate them.”

Other notes tied at the location where Ms. Bulley was last seen state that she is loved and that people are “praying for your safe return.”

Her phone, which was still connected to a Teams call, was discovered on a seat on a steep riverbank with a view of the water, along with the dog leash and harness.

On Friday, officials in Morecambe Bay revealed they were expanding their search towards the sea. The search will include combing Wyre Estuary inlets and wetlands.
