The noteworthy Croatian coastal city of Rijeka denoted the beginning of its year as European Capital of Culture 2020 on Saturday, with a marvellous opening function.
More than 70 occasions for all ages and interests occurred, coming full circle in an exhibition called ‘Mechanical Show’ speaking to the city’s legacy as a port.
Irena Kregar Segota, on the social board of trustees for Rijeka European Capital of Culture, said the program of occasions is propelled by the city’s mechanical legacy, relocation and the ocean.
“They truly portray the history and the personality of Rijeka as a city that is encompassed by water, by the ocean, that has numerous wellsprings of crisp water. It’s a city that has consistently been a labourers’ city, modern city,” she said.
From show to artistry, music and photography, the program has been intended to speak to the two voyagers and inhabitants.
Rijeka occupant Marijana Boroja Uremovic stated: “I am glad to such an extent this has happened to my city where I live .”
