A railway line in Shropshire has officially reopened after a four-day closure, during which extensive engineering work was carried out to repair a collapsed culvert beneath the track.
The suspension of services, which affected trains running between Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as Shrewsbury and Llandrindod Wells, caused significant disruptions for travelers, with some services being replaced by buses.
The disruption stemmed from the discovery of the collapsed culvert between Craven Arms and Church Stretton.
Network Rail, the organization responsible for overseeing the UK’s railway infrastructure, announced that the damage posed a safety risk and required immediate action to ensure the continued integrity of the track.
