More strikes in holidays, warns protestors in France

Public transportation in France remains affected on the eighth day of the strike. Protesting unions reminds that there could be more trouble as the strikes could continue even in the Christmas holidays.

Head of CGT’s railway branch Laurent Brun told on the french radio station that there would be no Christmas break until the government comes back to its sense.

Transporters are striking against the pension reforms which seeks that people need to work longer to be eligible for a full pension. Recently, Prime Minister Édouard Philippe announced the new retirement plan where the retirement age is said to remain 62; however, the individual needs to work for longer than usual to get the full pension.

The strikes are now joined by the employees of various departments, resulting in reduced services of metro, buses and other transportation mediums in the country.

Major cities like Paris are facing an enormous crowd on public transportations, where the public is facing trouble reaching their workplaces on time.
