Germany Surges Towards Renewable Energy Job Peak, Reflecting Global Demand

Germany is witnessing a surge in employment in the renewables sector, reaching levels not seen since 2010.

The resurgence is attributed to the burgeoning demand for heat pumps and the installation of solar panels, according to data from the Institute for Economic Structures Research (GWS).

As of 2022, the number of people employed in Germany’s renewable energy sectors has reached an impressive 387,000, marking a substantial increase from the 2019 figure of 309,000.

This upward trajectory is particularly commendable, as it aligns with a 5% growth in the overall German workforce since 2010.
