French Union called for the protests against the controversial pension scheme, even though the negotiations were going on about the changes in the plan.
Talks between the Parliament and Union continued on January 7 after a vacation break during which the continuous agitation disabled the vehicle framework, leaving thousands stranded for Christmas.
Yet, as the week finished, and in spite of President Emmanuel Macron calling for “mutual negotiation and understanding” in his New Year’s address, no solution could be found.
Francois Hommeril, leader of the CFE-CGC association, told journalists after his meeting with Prime Minister Edouard Philippe that the strike.
“will undoubtedly proceed” and that a “progression of mobilizations” made arrangements for Saturday and one week from now will proceed.
“We are as yet contradicted to this change as it is introduced to us. It is a futile change, a risky change,” he continued, requiring the administration to scrap it by and large.
Another association head, Laurent Berger from the CFDT, struck a marginally progressively positive note after his meeting with Philippe, telling correspondents that he had felt “an eagerness” from authorities to examine the plan. Still, on a fundamental level he was against the administration’s proposed “rotate age”.
“The ball is in the administration’s camp,” he at that point said in an announcement, clarifying that his association had required a meeting to talk about the ideal approaches to back a benefits change.
