France decides to give “booster shot” to people instead of a lockdown

France has decided to give all adults a ‘booster dose’ of the Covid-19 vaccine, instead of re-imposing a lockdown in the country amid an alarming rise in the number of coronavirus infections in the country.

Cases of covid-19 have increased in France in the last few weeks and the number of daily cases has crossed 30,000. Cases of hospitalization of infected people and death due to infection are also increasing in the country.

French Health Minister Olivier Veran gave information about this plan at a press conference. During this, he announced to reduce the interval between the second and third doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to six to five months. He said France already has enough vaccines to launch a nationwide ‘booster’ campaign.

While emphasizing on wearing masks in public places and strictly adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines, Veran said that if someone does not take a ‘booster dose’, his/her ‘COVID-19 pass’ will be considered invalid. This ‘pass’ is mandatory for visiting many closed places.

He said that patients admitted to hospitals in the country are 10 times those who have not been vaccinated as compared to those who have been vaccinated.

Meanwhile, in view of the increasing cases of infection in France, Morocco has banned all flights to and from France from Friday until further orders.
